but WDP is able to prove that thier angel markers were patented FIRST and that SP is actually infringing on their patent!! So now SP is getting a taste of their own medicine.

That isnt really what happened either.
What happened was a company called PVI wanted to make the first electro, and hired a scientist from the local college to design it, since nobody in paintball really understood electronics. It was called the PVI SHocker.
It was sold through Smart Parts, but SP had NO PART in the design or manafacture. They only sold it.
But, the deal fell apart, and SP found someone else to make there own version, and PVI also produced a version for themselves (called the Cyber9K).
This made SP angry, and they SUED PVI OUT OF BUSINESS. During the bankrupcy hearing for PVI, the patent for the SHocker was auctioned off.... and SP was the highest bidder.
When SP bought the patent, they began to sue companies left and right. They started with WDP, then AKA, ICD, AGD, DYE, and beat all except WDP, who decided to fight on.
Then, remember that scientist that PVI hired? PVI FORGOT to put his name on the patent, meaning they could not legally sell it to SP when they did.
SO, WDP found out, and bought the patent FROM THE SCIENTIST (earlier this year).
WDP, with there new patent, counter-sued SP, and won.
The judge, who probobly has never played paintball, said that SP claims to have invented the electro were completely false. He could not find evidence that they have invented ANYTHING. All of there products are licensed... or stolen.. from other companies.
SO, currently, both SP and WDP hold joint ownership of the Shocker patent, though neither had invented it. Strange times.
