Alpha is right: The "Splatmaster" was the first gun DESIGNED for paintball. Before that, the 707, 007 and PG were all made before paintball (for marking trees and cattle). However, those three guns evolved into the Tippmann, Phantom, and Cocker.

The Sniper originally started out as an upgrade kit for the PGP. There were other upgrade kits at the time, but the rest died out.

Alpha's history is AGD-biased, but I don't really blame Alpha. Paintball is like a lot of hobbies were every manafacturer tends to make crazy claims. In AGD's case, they DID contribute A LOT to paintball. But so did Palmer, Tippmann, and everyone else. THis makes it hard to write a GOOD, IMPARTIAL history.
For example, who invented the semi-auto? Well, Tippmann, Brass Eagle, Palmer and AGD all had semis in the 1980s, but who was first? No easy way to tell since all came out about the same time (ie SMG, Eagle, Camile, Panther).

So... I do give Alpha credit for trying. If I wrote a history, I probobly would ignore speedball since I'm just as biased as anyone else.
