yes you can but youll have to find out the airliner's regulations about the co2/HPA tank since they carry compressed gasses and are used by drug smugglers.
If your unsure of how to prepare it, take it to the local proshop. Most of the time youll have to unscrew the regulator from the bottle and show that the bottle is empty and isnt compressed(since its open). Obviously you need to degass the tank before doing this. As i said, it depends on the airline.
