Easy on the kid...

You know what this sounds like to me? A prime example of why you should be shooting a phantom.

Not the part about the kid being scared, because the answer to that is obvious and has already been covered... I'm talking about your friend tagging you multiple times while you're trying to hit him with your 15 bps marker. You blame it on your teammates, but what's the real issue here? You go to a woods field and play like you're in a speedball game. Sure you might win once in a while, but you're playing a different game than everyone else out there. You may prefer speedball, many players do. However, "When in Rome..."

Don't think I'm getting down on speedball or 15+ bps markers. It's just not my style. I also own a 'mag (granted it's from 1994) and I've played tournament speedball many times... it's just not what I like. (Plus it's expensive) I LIKE 30+ minute games where I might fire 5 shots total. I like being able to win without ever firing. And when people show up in the woods and rip off balls at everything that moves, I tell them the same thing I'm saying here: Don't bring a dragster to an autocross race and expect to have a great time.

Lastly, don't think I'm trying to put you down for your story. I think we can all learn from this. Not everybody wants to dodge a hail of paint to grab a flag. And unless you're in a scenario game and you have 'rank' or are playing on an organized team, don't tell people to do things on the field. It's pretty much never going to happen. Fact of life; sorry.
