20 BALLS per second.
300 divided by 20 equals 15 FEET between BALLS (-edited!)
They look closer because of perspective. Regardless, the point is simple. When shooting through lanes, more paint means its harder for the 'other guy' to run THROUGH the lane.
It also makes for boring paintball.
