Tighten down the hatches:

Tighten all screws and screw in parts, but not so much that they can't be re-adjusted when you to re-time or tweak it.

If it's not broken, don't fix it:

Pretty self-explanatory. However once you feel confident in timing your gun, you should consider sweetspotting and shortening the cycle to really get the full potential outa your new beauty.
