it could be useful in scenario games, im pretty sure ive seen mass produced smoke grenades specifically for paintball before. i know this has nothing to do with paintball, but while we're on the subject of homemade grenades, i heard of this crazy indian guy once that made flash-bang grenades out of tennis balls and some other stuff, then sold them for $1, for no reason.
think about it in scenario though, you could through a smoke grenade into an enemy base and force them all out, then when they come out you light them up.
