Obvously nobody thats posted so far (ok maby just the last few posts
) realise what a smoke bomb is for. When you need cover (aka when you want to move from one area to another) and you don't have any (because the area you want to move through is wide open) tou plant a few smoke bombs in that open area so that it's hard to get a beed on you and fire on you. It's a VERY effective tatic when combined with cover fire.
Here is how you do it:
You want to move a small part of your team around to flank your opponents. You lay down some smoke bombs to cover their movement and when they start moving you lay down supression/cover fire (aka fire like hell at you opponents) so that they won't stick their heads up and shoot at the group trying to flank them. You could also lay a smoke cover on a few areas around you to confuse your opponents etc etc. I'm sure that most people here can come up with more creative ideas for smoke bombs other than "grenades".
