Regardless of all that, I didn’t have any problems aside from Wal-Mart forgetting to include a burst ring in one of the tanks… I wish I were making that up because when that co2 exploded, it ricocheted like a pinball off of my furniture and almost myself.

Ouch, Wal-mart/BE will end up having some lawsuits on their hands if they sell anymore crap like that. Could have seriously hurt someone.

Our first time playing, my girlfriend just couldn’t take the pain. I figured she would just have to get used to it so we took a break. We went back out – took our places about 30 feet from each other, and she still couldn’t take the pain.

Couldn't help but laugh at this alittle... you took your girlfriend to your backyard, and shot her with a paintball gun from 30 feet away? heh, did she get a chance to shoot you? did it not also hurt you really bad? While they don't usually hurt, 30 ft away with a marker shooting above 300 fps, I've seen ribs break at 320.

I asked him what to do, and he told me to go online and buy two springs – something about color-coding, red being the highest, black being the middle… he told me to get the lowest I could find and install it. If not, he said we could spend the day cutting down my current springs until we find a comfortable setting.

I looked around for a few minutes about the springs, while I didn't find anything useful on the brass eagle forum, you may find what you're needing if you froogle (google's shopping tool) and search for brass eagle springs. I would get access to a chrono before you go cutting springs tho.
Best of luck, and don't get the wrong impression about paintball, just because you had a badexperience with BE/Walmart.
