well, if it wont stay back when you pull it, either you have assembled it wrong somehow, the sear spring is worn out, the sear itsef or hammer (or both) are worn out. the way to tell if the sear or hammer is worn is by looking at the edges where they "catch" when the gun is cocked. if either is slightly rounded or chipped, they are considered worn out and should be replaced. if you can, try to replace the sear spring, you may be able to find a similar one at a hardware store for less than 50 cents.
