Let me try and enlighten you one more time.
The initial provisional filing is what secures the the date of priority on the Patent if and when it grants.If you don't file a formal Patent in a years time, you lose the date.
That where the date comes from silly boy and wht get's you priority in a court of law.
That's the whole point of the provisional in the first place , to secure the date of priority while you prepare the full application. If Tippmann had filed a provisional prior to the date on thier patent it woould have the same priority date on it. But they don't and they therefore have later priority...as been stated.
"based on claims Priority to..." Says it all.
