yeah have you ever used steam before? if you gave it to a friend, or someone else registered it onto THEIR account it wont work. or mabye you have another email username you forgot about? other than that, i'd say just go to
www.steampowered.com and go to the forums for help.
if its none of that, i'd say someone pirated the cd key in the store and just never took the game...
