i only read the last page cuz im lazy. anyway, i think this argument is stupid. everyone has their opinions, everyone has a different situation and plays differently, so what? we all paintball.

first off: why cant rec and woodsballing be considered real paintball? its paintball isnt it. according to some of the above posts, very few ppl actually paintball. ha! correct me if im wrong, but when paintball was first invented, there was no such thing as tourney ball, or speed/x-ball. just because recballers dont cheat, play to win, and have expensive guns doesnt mean they suck. take hockey for example. ice hockey would be like speedball, roller and street like woods. theyre both hockey arent they? i dont see where you come across saying that woods and rec are "real" paintballing.

adressing the issue of tourneys and "winning". its the same as any sport. little league is real baseball isnt it? just cuz some kid isnt the best
doesnt make him less of a player, does it? sports were invented for people to have fun. theres such a thing as having fun and not "winning" to. "winning" is merely a concept. remember that.

shouldnt loving the sport be enough? i hate how paintball is getting so commercialized. ya i know, its needed to keep the sport going. but its getting to be like other sports: too much money involved. i play cuz i love it,not to win. if i wanna win, i can enter a tourney. but thats not what "paintball" is all about for me.

i dont have enough money to play all the time or be on a team and enter tourneys. i have a spyder shutter, if that tells you anything. most ppl are in similar situations. if i had the money, id play several times a week and enter tourneys, but i dont.

ramping, wiping, bonus balling, etc are basically like steroids in any other sport. it gets to a point where you cant compete if you dont do it. w/e, as long as you understand what your getting into and thats what you want, who cares? its not what i want, cheating sucks, but i dont care, i dont play that way. think about this. if no one cheated, it would be the same as if everyone cheated, wouldnt it?

at the end of the day, i care more about if i had fun. why the fuc* would i shell out so much money if i didnt? who cares where you play, how you play, who you play with, as long as you loved every moment of it. i cherish the memories paintball has given me. not just the times ive won. i get more out of any sport from losing than winning, people just dont understand that. its like life in general. learn from your mistakes. its not fun if your perfect.

oh, and btw barber: who cares if you win. good for you (i really mean that), but that doesnt make you any more of a paintballer than any of us. its about heart, not winning. nothing should ever be. and remember, the end doesnt justify the means.
