thanks for the nice words guys, but i always keep finding out new stuff all the time which is why I browse around so much. I also am way behind on new tech, I feel lost tearing around in electronics.
Anyway, people have pretty much said what can be said about why to own one, but when you get down to it, I have yet to meet a paintballer that plays on any frequnt basis that can claim he DOESN'T want to tinker with his gun. A cocker is the ultimate extension of that, always has been and probably will remain it for any forseable future. Performance wise, you can set it up any way you want. You have more trigger options and more firing styles open to you with a simple outlay of cash and a few tools then any other gun. you can even convert them from pump, to semi, to electro between games and still be able to switch back for the next. As an e gun it can keep up with anything out there in normal playing conditions, then turn around and play pump.
Want to be really hard core and tinker around? ever seen an open bolt e-cocker? its been done and the parts are still out there, no milling needed, just soem knowhow and a soildering iron. how about a pneumatic assist pump that can fire as fast as a semi? They've been around for years. how about a mechnical rt mode? been around for years, coming around again, and could be whipped up with some fabrication and a clippard catalog if your really daring.
Now, 99.9% of people won't go that far, but the option is there. It was once said "there is no such thing as a stock cocker after a week, there is no other gun that is so much a personal billboard". when you get down too it, theres virtually no other gun out there that you can so drasticly alter the performance with your own hands and parts. It may not be the latest, greatest, theorotically fastest thing out there but it definatly still has a niche.
