Instead of wasting your time with them and their tests why not try to find a better team. If they don't even understand the concepts of trying out a person with things that are actually relevant in paintball and have practical drills then they will not be very sucessful and you will not learn much or move up in skills easily. Let them do their stupid drills/tests and get on an actual team that has some common sense and mow 'em down.
