well, your really not "tuning" the carrier. all the carrier is is just a small piece of metal in the powertube that carries an oring. by changing the carrier size (tuning, which you have to do) forces the oring to be a little smaller or a little bigger depending on the size of the carrier (you can't tell the difference by looking). If you have too small a carrier in (which you might), the bolt cannot move freely enough, which is why it is getting stuck. if you move up a carrier size, but it starts leaking constantly down the barrel, then you need to oil your lvlx some, using good lube like trouble free. if you move up a size without it leaking but the problem still persists, well lube it up, or you could try adjusting the amount of shims in your powertube.
