Yup, It's pre-1973 so no real emissions restrictions. I don't know if I want want to go crazy with the engine, just leave it stock, or have my cousin build me something to my liking and keep the original engine on the side since it is numbers matching to the car. I know right away I would want want to swap the cast 2-bbl manifold with one of the 4-bbl manifolds we have sitting in the garage (off the old Blazers) and top that off with a 600cfm or so carb. That would pick it up another 15hp or so putting it somewhere between 175-200hp/275 lb-ft tq, which would give it roughly the same power to weight ratio as my Mazda Tribute. I would also want to change the rear from the lousy 10 bolt open to a 12 bolt posi (I think my uncle has one laying around from one of the SS Chevelles he restored). That is just basic stuff. If I did anything else I know I would go nuts and I would rather save money for a nice paint job first.

By the way, the duel headlight design was 1970 and previous. I like the single headlight design for its clean look, but I would prefer not having the corner turn signals like the 1971+ cars do. So I don't win either way, however a 1972 is cheaper than a 1970 or earlier, so I win there.
