Okay, first off, to most of the people who replied, don't come into this forum just to tell people they are stupid and shouldn't have bought a Brass Eagle/VL marker. They are not the best, but these markers are what get alot of people into the sport.
Secondly, your chopping is most likely because of bad quality paint. Try some of the higher quality stuff, and check your paint to barrel match with a blowgun test. Also, a Revvy/Empire II would be a good investment to make, the chopping might also be because of you outshooting your gravity feed hopper. Barrels have already been listed, so I'll skip that.
A blowgun test, is when you take a handful of paint from the bag, so you have a random sample of about 10-15 balls, and you do the following:
1. Stick a paintball in the back of your barrel.
2. If it rolls through, the paint is too small. Try another ball.
2. If it stops about 1" or so in, put your hand at the top of the barrel, your mouth around the back.
3. Blow into it with about the force you would blow a mosquito off your arm.
4. If the paint shoots out into your hand, it's the right size. Repeat the test with another ball.
4. If the paint is still in their, bust out a stick squeegee and get it out, the paint is too big.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 with all the other paintballs.
