No, the RPM dosn't need an anti siphone but it is a good idea
The RPM vs The Ion.
We compared both of these guns side by side in 34 degree weather. The Ion had a 16 inch cp barrel and has nitro for the gas. The RPM had it's stock 8 inch barrel and a 20 oz CO2 tank for the gas. Both guns used an Egg for a hopper and a Halo TSA.
Speed: We each shot both guns in a number of different modes. We decided that the RPM shot faster on semi. The ramping modes worked good with both of them.
Accuracy: We then had an accuracy contest to see who could shoot a pop can about 15 to 20 yards away. The Ion had the much better barrel and won this.
Weight: The Ion with its stock plastic black body is only about 1/2 pound lighter then the RPM. You can hardly tell the difference when the hoppers are full of paint.
Comfort when holding: This can be a big thing or mean very little. The RPM does not have a VA which is uncomfortable to some. If you've ever used a gun with out a VA before the RPM will not be uncomfortable. But if you need a VA to hold on to then you will like the comfort of the Ion more.
Modes: The Ion and the RPM both have a couple of options. When we compared them it became very evident that it was a lot easyer to switch the RPM's modes then the Ions. The Ion involes blinking lights and codes while the RPM is a simple switch located inside the trigger frame. The RPM was a lot easyer to use here.
Regulators: Theres really isn't anything special with eaither regulator other then the RPM comes stock with an ON/Off.
If there is anything else you would like me to add just say so.
