Specs-

teammates ion, halo b with v35, stock everything but barrel, which was a 12" freak with AA front and .689 insert.

First glance- Looks cheap, and it is, looks aren't where this gun shines. Everything looks plastic but most of it isn't. The body has an obvious seem going down the middle, the grips look plasticy (not rubbery like stickys).

feel- This gun feels aright in your hands, it feels sturdy, none of the stock parts are great but they work. Its pretty light, and small.

I get really caught up thinking its bigger than it actually is,

Airing it up and turning it on- First off, the on/off button is a *****, its small and you have to push it pretty hard for it to work. The duckbill looks ugly but it puts the tank in a good place. Air went in, no leaks, then I took it to the range

the range-So this where the gun really shines. First off although the stock reg is ugly and it has the plastic cover on it, it is pretty damn consistant. It was shooting around +/-5. It had no velocity issues like I had currently been experiencing. The reg was a pain to adjust, no allen screw adjustment, you have to turn this hex knob which is where the fitting screws into, so as you adjust your reg the fitting swivels too. The shots were tight and it had little kick, more than a freestyle or trix but less than most angels and stocky bushys and imps.

the trigger- Okay this deserves its own paragraph. Because as much as I hate some of the other stuff on the ion I am absolutely in love with the trigger. This is one of the best triggers I have ever used. As far as I can tell its just a regular magnet, its set up so it attracts it instead of repells it. Of course its on the other side so it doesn't push it into the microswitch. This trigger is easy to shoot, I can't stress it enough. With some triggers you can **** up and skip shots, but this is just easy to pull and it kinda pushes your fingers back. I can cap the gun out of the box. It feels so natural and it shoots when you want it to.

the internals- This also deserved its own section, but unlike the trigger there is not much to brag about here. First off the board, it has a button on it and its hard to adjust, the blinking gets confusing and you have to use the on off button to adjust it also. The 9 volt battery inside the gun is connected with a heavy duty connector. The bad thing about those is that they can come apart if you pull too hard, instead of being flexible like most connectors its hard plastic.

Now for the "solenoid". No, just no, instead of using an actual compact, 1 piece solenoid like every other electronic marker they use a series of hoses and a magnet. All completely open. It has the magnet in the open so you can see all the thin wiring. Then it has all the hoses in the open connected to fittings that are bound to be broken or stripped by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. See, what would be ideal is to have just a solenoid and a metal manifold or just metal tubes, like on the freestyle. You couldn't mess up the air lines if you tried.

the field-3,2,1 go! Its light, which helps you move, its not uncomfortable and has a pretty solid feel. The feedneck is a little tall which makes it feel top heavy, but the gun is pretty balanced as long as you don't have a metal tank. It shoots fast and is easy to maneuver.

Reliability- Theres a reason people use this as a backup gun. Its reliable, very reliable. Just don't go into the internals messing around and you should be fine. Its definitely a gun you can put your faith into as long as you grease it up every once in a while. Doesn't chop either.

Pros-
Reliability
trigger
ramp stock
consistant
Small
light
pretty fast
little kick
Value

Cons-
cheap look
some stuff feels cheap, albeit solid
internals are a mess
on off button is annoying
feedneck is a must to be replaced
inefficient on air
inefficient on batteries
Settings are complicated

Ending thoughts-
Good gun, some parts should be replaced, its kinda cheap in places. The trigger is great. Great value and its small and light. Perfect for a backup gun, it still doesn't compete with higher end guns but it does come close.
