I think the four eyes is a seperate upgrade for both of them, they both come with the 2 eye setup unless the 4 eyes are ordered. At least that's what I understand from looking at Bob Long's site, when you go to order them they both have the four eyes as a seperate item to order.

I don't know what the purpose of the four eyes was in the Quadra, perhaps it was the same idea, but here's the basic premise of the four eye system in the Marq: In a "normal" gun with only one set of eyes, the gun will fire when a ball is detected at the bottom of the breech, waiting to be fired. The extra set of eyes in the Marq is above is the standard set, so that the ball can be sensed sooner, thus the firing sequence started sooner. This works out, because the firing cycle does not actually beging until the solenoid has fully activated. So the solenoid can begin moving in order to redirect the air before the ball is actually ready to be fired. This shaves of a handful of ms off of the firing cycle, resulting in a higher ROF. Might even begin moving the ram & bolt forward a tiny bit before the ball is fully seated, although I think it's just the solenoid.
I wish I could explain it better... but it's already proven that it works, the Marq can shoot at a higher BPS (not CPS) than any timmy I've seen.
