An RPG to me (and to most people) is a game where you have one guy to control and you can pick up others as you go about your quest killing Nazis and mutants.

RPG- Role Playing Game such as morrowind
FPS- First Person Shooter such as halo
TPS/3PS- Third Person Shooter such as splinter cell
