it's not just something you can remove
It won't hinder anything though and you'll still benefit from it. Just know that you can't mount the tank anything but horizontal with the tube pointed up; if you do it'll start sucking up pure liquid co2(there should be a line or some sort of marking that lets you know what side of the tank the tube is pointed towards)
