There are two nuts that ho;ld the valve in place,
The first on came be reached by removing the grip frame.

The other is internal and can only be reached by Removing the Cocking rod, hammer, spring, back block and IVG. This one need a tool to remove as the Vavle pin is in the way for a allen key
To mee it sounds like your missing the Internal nut or it's not tighened down all the way as you were able to take it out with an allen key.
(Now i just got to put my pump back together)
