I own both the Ion and the epiphany and I find the epiphany too be much better, lighter more accurate with the freak. And yes, the epiphany will accept any after market parts from the ION categories. So with the new prices on both guns just go for the epiphany you wont have any problems. And i don't shoot with a halo i have a reloader B which except for the internals is the same stats as a halo and its great with the epiphany and the ION.
