To counter the tippman love a bit here:

There quality control has slipped, significantly. Of 14 new guns purchased for our rental fleet 4 months ago, 7-8 valves have already failed. The guns are maintained as well as, if not better than, most personal guns, and business is definitely not "booming" at the moment. The sad part is, we are fixing the new shells with valves that are 6-7 years old and still functional.

I am not a fan of the way tippman makes it's guns, they're overly complicated to take apart, and to long, but I can lay that aside when they are reliable. These new 98's are not reliable. In the same span of time, we have had maybe 5 out of 30 spyder clones go down, all of which where common o-rings that had warn. Those guns are all 1year or more old.

Take it FWIW, The newer 98's are having a lot of reliability issues.

If you want a bullet proof gun, go buy an automag(yes kaz, amazingly you can still buy them brand new....wow!!). They've always been more dependable and better built with the tippman, and will shoot every bit as fast.
