First thing you need to check is that you have enough gas. Then just oiling the thing might do the trick. If not, check the springs, both the valve and the main spring, if they're broken or rusty or damaged in any way, replace them. Then check your valve assembly for obstructions, make sure there's gas going to the hammer side of the valve because otherwise it won't be pushed back.
