I can't disagree, I would take a VS1 over a SP1 myself. Better overall performance. It would ALMOST be worth the price of a sp1 just to test if they'll actually do that or not.
Never actually looked at a sp1 board, are maybe all contacts sealed, like the old nerve boards flashport was? That SHOULD, in theory, make it mostly waterproof.
