1) depends on the game, some are CTF but even in those games you want to eliminate everyone on the other team before going for the flag, penalties are pretty much the big difference betweeen scenario and speedball, whiping is gennerally a 1 for 1 (the person whiping is out and another teamate)
2) gennerally back, mid, and front (snake is front) but the snake is a very important position to play on the field, gennerally more emphasis is placed on it than your front player on the other side of the field since the snake offers a covered way to move up the field
3) there are no large teams like your used to, largest games iv heard of are 12 v 12. to be competitive teams MUST work as a whole, filling out when someone is eliminated and covering a teamates advance
4)there are gennerally captains but that roll doesnt play a huge part in the large picture since the team must work together as a whole, unlike football if the quarterback sucks gennerally the team will suffer, in paintball if the captain sucks that doesnt mean the team will, they are only one part of the team and a part that is not any more important than any other part. plays (called breakouts) are gennerally planned before the match starts but once it starts you have to be able to shift to a new plan on the fly, not only that but everyone must know what needs to be done
5) that depends on your team
