Depends on what you wanna play. Backmen need fast fingers. Front players are going to get shot a lot, ecspecially if you're in the snake, since once snake is hot, it becomes a priority to eliminate the snake player as they can single-handedly change the outcome of the game.
I personally am a snake player. Ultra-aggressive, off the break I simply sprint and dive into snake, I don't even attempt to get off a single shot. Practice snap shooting a lot, as you can't expose yourself to shots for more than a split second at any one point or you'll be eliminated.
Back players have to be REALLY good at directing. They lay supression fire so that teammates can move, and will often be the most vocal as far as when movement on the opposing team happens, directing their teammates on the field. This is really the only position that someone can be successful at if they're not that overly mobile in speedball.
Mids are kinda a mix. They need to be very observant, keep track of everything, be very vocal when someone makes moves, and be able to lay some serious paint. But they also need to be able to snap shoot well, and be mobile enough to easily make moves to get eliminations.
