Hey, I got it fixed. It wasn't crossthreaded, I must have screwed it on too tight though (maybe the metal expanded with temp and jammed together?). But yeah I just took a skinny screwdriver and popped the ring up and slid it and the pump off. Then I was able to get two hands on the barrel to get it undone. Now I've got an O-ring on the barrel.

Also, someone was asking about barrels? I thought I stumbled on a J&J ceramic barrel for the maverick/traccer.

And does anyone know how to adjust the velocity on the maverick? Mine is shooting so fast the paint is spiraling. T
One more thing, my gun is chopping paint about every 8 shots, i am using medium grade paint too.
