Ive started playing speedball now and I think it's amazing and have become very attached. Rules depend where you are playing but it's pretty straight forward don't cheat, ball breaks your out or you get a flag. And a team could have many member but you would have to bench a few. It's usually like 7 man or 5. Positions are front mid and back. Back players have fast fingers and lay cover fire for the front players. They usually carry the most paint. Front players move up and go in for the kill. Front player's main goal is to be able to take over the snake since it has so much control. Mid players play a combination of both. Practice, well if ya got paint and time do it. If it where up to me i would play everyday. And about the barrel, one that is too long isn't going to be accurate like you say, balls are not perfect and after a certain amount of distance they can start bouncing in the barrel actually making it less accurate. You want to get the ball out as quick as possible. You can't really compare a real gun with a paintball gun. For one thing paintballs are round unlike a bullet and travel much slower than a bullet. So i'm afraid your gun skills won't help you out here.
