One of the guys on my team just could not do yardage. He said whenever someone would call out the position of a bunker using yardage he'd have to stop and think about just where the heck that bunker was. Using simple calls for all the bunkers allowed him to just react and not stop and think on the field.
Here's chicago layout with one of the ways teams called bunkers. The snake side maya and temple each had nicknames from certain teams like "beast" and "calinfornia". Command center is a common nickname for a medium sized dorrito in the center of the field.
