Not always.....nobody is ALWAYS right.

Some scratching will be normal. I had scratching on my spyder compact and a little on the e99. The compact was mech, so it isnt just firing fast that does it, it is a flawed design. Polishing the internals made it stop right away and I havent had any trouble with it since.

Polishing out the scratches only removes the evidence, but does not do much for the underlying problem.
The polishing helps smooth out the rough edges on the bolt and will therefore almost eliminate the scratches. IF you do it right it will eliminate the underlying problem.
