Barrels
Now you are probably wondering why this was not in the first section, well because most stock piranha barrels are awesome. In addition, they sport standard bore size, so most paint works well in it.
However, if you feel the need to upgrade, read.
If you are low on money, I suggest one of these three: Custom Products 1 piece barrel, J&J Ceramic Barrel and the Smart Parts Progressive. All of those are great for the price. If you are considering the Smart Parts Tear Drop, do not. You might as well pay 10-15 dollars less and get the Progressive. Why? Because the only difference you will notice between the two is the price and the porting. Unless you really like the look of the Tear Drop, get the Progressive instead. In addition, a cool thing about the J&J Ceramic is that it can shoot through breaks.
If you have more money or plan to get into tournaments, look into barrel kits. There are many too chose from. Such as the Freak, Empire and Pipe For further information go to the Barrels and Paintballs section of Paintball forum.
Bolt
The only way it will be worth the upgrade is if it is Delrin. The choices are limited. There is the Evil bolt, Shocktech supafly and the Boss bolt, out of the three, the Boss bolt is most recommended. The only advantage of upgrading a bolt is lowering the pressure. Which is achieved by a lighter bolt, hence recommending only Delrin? Lowering pressure allows your marker to use less co2/air and lower kick back a bit. Also with the boss bolt it is Delrin but still has o-rings, so it really lowers kickback.
Trigger Frame
Available Trigger Frames:
- 2k3 Pro-EForce: Multi Mode
- 2k3 EForce: Multi-Mode Firing
- 2k2 (aka G3) EForce: Semi Automatic
- 45* Aluminum Trigger Frame: Mechanical
- 45* Composite Trigger Frame: Mechanical (plastic)
- Mako Storm: multi-mode firing (boo-ya went out of business though, it will be hard to find one of these)
If your marker was an EForce then there is no reason to upgrade your trigger frame. Unless you do not like electronic trigger frames. If you have a composite frame then you really should consider upgrading, composite frames tend to crack and break
Ram Air
There is a little piston with a spring instead the ram air. Allowing for more area for the air to go before entering the gun. Supposedly lowering operating pressure. If you are going to get one you might as well spend the extra money and get one with a gauge so you have an idea of the pressure coming into your marker.
Thumb Screw Velocity Adjuster
Allows you to adjust velocity without an Allen/hex key. Come with tournament locks (a small Allen/hex key that you screw into the rear block tight so the adjuster cannot move)
Valves
Choices are once again limited. Only ones I have really Noticed are the Turbo Valve and Evil Valve. Better valve really only improves consistency, and allows for lower pressure. A very debatable upgrade.
Flush Cocking
The point behind this is that the marker can cock internally so no external moving parts. The secret behind it lies in the bolt and cock rod. The bolt is hollowed out so the rod can go inside it. Then the part on the cocking rod that you put the bolt pin in is very long instead of just a hole just wide enough for the pin. The combination of the two allows the bolt to move up and down the cocking instead of being fixed into place. The cocking rod WILL still move, but with hardly any force
It is a neat personal upgrade. No real advantage to it though.
Drop Forwards
When it comes to drop forwards it is completely preference. There is no ‘best’ drop forward. It all depends on where you feel comfortable. Do you like the tank a lot forward and not far down or not so far forward and a lot down. It all depends on what you want. Moreover, it comes down to what you think looks cooler. Personally I really like the Shocktech Drops.
Other Upgrades:
Beaver Tail
Helps prevent cocking rod from coming back and hitting your lens. If you have flush cocking a beaver tail is useless unless you want it for the looks.
Spring Kits
If you are having troubles achieving the velocity you desire, buy a spring kit. Fairly inexpensive.
Grips
Very good upgrade if you just cannot stand the plastic mech grips. Evil and Dye's are my favorites. Standard 45 style grips WILL NOT fit on EForce frames with out a mod, contact me for how to's(SEFishy)
Triggers
Boss Blade
Standard blade type trigger for the eforce, cost 20$ from ross. great buy if u prefer the blade type triggers
K&K Ring Trigger
Fits only G2 piranhas and are getting very hard to find
Dubs Custom Trigger
this guy from the pmi forums will make any trigger in any shape u want from lexan for the eforce frames, 35$ a pop
