The Delta is a nice one, or so I've heard. Any semi-auto pistol should do fine.
Side-arms are only worth it if you are going to play a long scenario game, or if you are playing outlaw ball, and you don't get any CO2 refills. They are basically readily available back-up CO2, but look a lot cooler.
For cheapness/usefulness sake, I'd just get another tank, and put it in place of a pod.
If you were worrying about running out of paint, just get some pods. Playing pump will help you conserve paint, and will save you some cash.
