this post is probably old by now but the little noob posts again:-)
If you need some place to practice it also helps to talk to your local field and work out some deal. Sometimes if you ref and clean the field and help premote it you can get deals on paint and/or use their field for practice and bring your own paint on a "closed" day or something. Not really sure how much that has to do with sponsorship, correct me if I'm in the wrong here.
