On/off valves for Impulses are no longer required. That is, if it is a newly made Impulse.

On the newer Impulses, Smart Parts has modified the pin in the ASA so that on/off's are not required.

Yes, you can run an Impulse on Co2. And yes, it will need to be anti-siphoned. These are tubes that are installed in your Co2 tank, and they are bent upward on an angle that will only allow the gas form of Co2 to be sucked in thru the valve to enter your marker. They are very cheap upgrades though, should only cost you about $20 for the tube, and proper installation by a certified airsmith.
