Timmy Upgrade Thread
So you've dumped a couple hundred or even thousand dollars into your intimidator but it still dosen't completley sastify you? Heres a upgrade guide to make your timmy one mean machine! This is mainly for the 2k3 and older models. The 2k4 models already rip out of the box.
Board: Well for boards we have SOB which comes stock on most older timmys. SOB is a good board but it dosent have features such as debounce.
The WAS Equalizer is a very fast board with programable debounce and more. Debounce is trigger bounce, which means it will fire more than one shot on one pull. WAS is a cheater board unfortunatly.
The Choas Entropy is a very good board. Claimed to be more consistent than the WAS board when firing. Semi only and tournament legal. Unlimited ROF this will make any timmy rip. ACE support. Debounce programmable also.
The Frenzy board is the newest board and is on all 2k4 timmys. Frenzy is unlimited ROF and is tournament legal.
The Infamous Tadao board is a new board out. It has all the mode for PSP, NXL, NPPL, CFOA, etc. and features like ramping, debounce, mbounce, and much more. If you can dish out the cash and actually find one at the moment, the Infamous board is definitly the way to go.
Bolt: I recomend the Bob Long Delrin Bolt or the Shocktech Supafly bolt for the 2k3 Timmys. The bolts in 2k4 and 2k5 Timmys are different than the 2k3 bolts and usually have no need to replace unless you have problems with it. PBK Bolts are very nice bolts.
Feedneck: Lets face it, those stock necks are ugly, unconfortable, and too high. First off, get a clamper. Make sure its a lowrise or even a norise. Some good brands for clampers are CCM, CP, and check-it. Just a side note, always check the kind of threading of your feedneck before getting a new one. Most timmys have different kind of feedneck threading.
Trigger: Stock triggers, you either love them or don't. The market for Timmy triggers is pretty small, but nice. The only kind of triggers I recomend are the Delrin Triggers, CP Rollers, and Techna.
Ram Cap: The stock ram caps are really a pain in the neck to deal with. Also those rams use those stupid little bumpers you have to replace regulary. Do yourself a favor and get a Hybird Bumperless Ram Cap.
Ram: Really you should only replace the ram if you're getting tons of kick and you want to reduce that. A KAPP Thumper ram would be the best bet, but all in all I just recomend getting the Hybird Ram Cap instead of a whole new ram.
Trigger Frame: Every Intimidator has a Clamshell with an exception of the Classic and GZ series. Really the trigger frame is up to you. You can put 2k4 and 2k5 clamshells on a pre-2k4 timmy and vice versa. It's really all up to how you like the feel of the gun.
Bolt pin: Nothing wrong with the stock bolt pin but if you want to dress your Timmy up a little bit then you could grab a new bolt pin.
Pistons: The delrin pistons go in your LPR and Torpedo Inline reg. The delrin pistons helps with consistancy problems and gets a little bit of better air efficency. Well worth the money in my opinion.
Grips: Anything Hybird looks really good on Timmys. Just a note if you have the 2k4-2k5 Clamshell with the LCD in the grip panel, you will need Alias style grips. If you have the pre-2k4 Clamshell you will need standard .45 Grips.
The rest is up to you. Good luck with your Intimidator.
