ok there is liquid co2 that can come through the valve of the co2 tank and enter ur marker!! (NOT a good thing) the anti syphon tube is bent upwards inside the tank so that the tube will only suck in the gasses and restrict(sp) the amount of co2 that will enter ur marker, hence giveing co2 users better consistancy less velocity spikes and u would have to worry about freezing the inline reg as much {i would advise hpa over co2 anyday
