Paintball masks can withstand a shotgun blast at close range. Considering the shotgun they used probably was firing at a muzzle velocity around 6-700 feet per second, I think your more then safe. You know how the military tests their ammunition cases? They heat them up to over 150 degrees, then cool them to 100 below, then put them in a chamber of tremendous pressure and see if its still good. Paintball masks are tested the same way. Velocities are capped in fields at 280, and anyone shooting over that will be warned/and or kicked out.

You have nothign to worry about. I don't think there was ever a paintball related injury that wasn't caused by misuse. I've heard stories of 11 year old kids installing hteir own anti-syphon kits and killing their mother, or of people who play without masks and get shot in the eye and can't open their eye for a few weeks.

If you wear your mask, adn have your barrel plugs in when your not wearing masks, there is NOTHING that you need worry about.
