2 balls at once.....sometimes
I have an Automag R/T Pro. It will occasionally shoot two balls at once. I was wondering if the detent is bad or if it could be something else. Is this common for this gun? Any advice would be appreciated.
Also, I would like some opinions on this situation...
Currently, I have an Intelli-frame wired to my Rev hopper. For those of you who don't know, the Intelli-frame allows you to wire your trigger to the Rev so that it spins each time the trigger is pulled. (Poor mans sound activation I guess).
I keep chopping balls with the Rev (cant feed fast enough I guess) I am considering buying either a Halo Hopper or Level 10 bolt. From what I understand, the Level 10 will make it impossible to break balls. If this is the case, I might as well stick with the Rev and save $100. Right? Since it can't break balls anyways, what would be the point of buying a good hopper?
Thanks for the input.

Sounds like a bad detent. If you can outshoot a revvy then go with other hoppers. The Evo 2 is a fine hopper, the Apache or you can get a used halo

Revs, Eggs, and Rico's are generally slow and crappy compared to a Halo. Even if you think or know you will never shoot that fast, it's still nice to know that you can fire a ball out everytime, unlike with the other hoppers.
As for the multiple ball problems. If you have a classic RT, replace the ball detent in there. The ones that use nubbins that is.
If it's a newer RT that uses Angel detents, then try tightening the detent farther into the chamber. Do not do it too tight, or you might cause bolt stick. Other times the detent might be too weak, but that isn't likely since i haven't heard of that happening yet. So trying tightening your detent. If that doesn't work, then go out and buy a new one.

Excellent. I think I have the older model, so I will get on the detend ASAP. Thanks for the responses on that.
As for the hopper...
You are right about buying a good hopper. I have went through like 3 shells with my Rev. That is equal to the price of a Halo!
How is the Halo B compared to the Halo TSA? I know the TSA will be able to keep up with my style of shooting (I dont really shoot that fast), but I am concerned about the quality. I dont want it to break a week later.

Get the level 10 as well, then no chops. The TSA is what I use and I also have an apache -- both feed just fine for me. If you are looking for great detents (though a bit pricy) get the KILA magnetic detents... no springs to wear out as they are using magnetic repulsion to actuate. They are about $25/each though -- but you will never ever replace them again. Plus they have a lifetime warrentee if they do fail for some bizzare reason. Check on AO in the dealer's forum for the links.

ULE = Ultra Lightweight Engineering
Basicly this is the current light body offered by AGD. Thay are threaded for Angle detents and you can get those KILLA units if desired. Last I checked the body is about $130-160 depending on the source.
As a cool bonus you save a bunch of weight too!

goto automags.org and hang out there for a few days. look around the misc. forum for a ULE body, some go pretty cheap. as for the nubbins, make sure you have both on there. ans if they are still decent, super glue the in place. you should be fine for a while. before you buy any hopper, GET THE LVL10! if your luck, you can score a lvl10 and a ULE body from the same guy for cheap.

Wow, they have alot of great buys on automags.org in the classified section. Thanks for that!
I checked out my gun when I got home. I am not sure what the nubbins are though. It looks like the only thing holding the ball is a piece of metal connected to the barrel itself. This can't the nubbin because mine is metal. I am considering this quote...

those little bastard plastic pieces from hell

Also, if the thing holding the ball back is part of the barrel itself, how would the new body make a difference. (Since the barrel goes all the way beyond the actual feedneck.) Would I also need to get a new barrel and is my gun really out of date or what?
Thanks guys.
