What makes mags so good?

I was just looking around the site here. and the mag owners seem to be super loyal to the Mags. They definately look well made, so could you guys please tell me whats the draw ? Are they durable? Shoot fast, straight, consistent? The price seems pretty good for the quality.

EVerythign you said.

The X-valve can sustain speeds of 26bps Without shootdown. Its very very possible to reach adn exceed those speeds. www.zakvetter.com has hit 34bps on his mag.

The LEvel 10 antichop superbolt is a revolutionary bolt.. Will NOT chop. Ever. You can literally stick your tongue in the feedneck adn shoot. And it has been done by tom kay,e hte creator of mag. Tehres a vid of it somewhere.

ULE means Ultra Light Engineering, adn you can get a bunch of mag pars in ULE. My mag weighs 2.0lbs exactly.

They look very cool.

They are consistant beucase they have a built in regulator on the valve. No one gun shoots straighter then another. Thats all deturmined by paint and barrel.

You can dunk them in a bucket of water, pull it out, then shoot. These things are durable, and can put even tippmanns to shame.

Plus, you may have noticed that we love our mags, adn we treat one another with respect. Owning a mag makes you part of a family.

they run well, are small, and are simple to fix/maintian due to construction. Also, **** load of unique parts.

and alpha, i'm surprised, thought u'd lay a little more of ur mag gosspel on him. Like u tend to do in some gun comparision threads...

What? Telling him how fast, sexy, unique, durable and customizable isn't a gospel?

Check out my gun in the review forum, and see what mags have the potential to be. Or Medics, or Zedaines, even jacobeids classic.

Ok, now heres a new question. i have seen an older Mag at a pawn shop here in town. But , the way the balls load is funny looking. If you were looking down the barrel of the gun from the back this is what it would look like. But Ive noticed almsot all mags in the pictures have a hopper centered over the barrel. Can this be changed? Also, if it doesnt work for some reason or another (assuming all the nice people here would help, which doesnt seem to be an issue) could I get the parts to repair it? How would I tell how old it is? I think they want 30 dollars for it.

You'd need to cut the feedneck off, fill in the hole it leaves, grind it smooth again, drill a new feedneck hole, and tap it for a new feedneck thread. This is a little more than a typical home project. This would also ruin the finish in tha area.

It would be better to just use a 45-degree elbow to mount a hopper on there.

No, that wouldn't shoot very fast. It's not electric, and its single triger. The new valves are Capable of shooting really quick with no problems, not to say that they do often. This probably doesn't have the newer valve and bolt installed.

i'm not to familiar w/ mags. But i beleive u can buy a brand new body w/ the center feed and then attach it to the rail. Though the real question is if the rail will fit.

Oh. Well, yes that's certainly an option. I forget the simple stuff sometimes. I will leave that for a Mag person.

The automag there is an AUtomag, circa 1990. ITs called the Automag.

What I described in my initial post is the Automag RT Pro, AGS's Flagship marker for now.

That automag will hit about 6bps, its kinda heavy, and the trigger pull is comparable to a tippmanns, but you can't do much about it.

ITs definetly worth the 30 bucks just to have anyways.

The RT Pro I described to you will run you $430. I'm logging on AIM now, after dinner, come talk to me: TheAlphaMag is my AIm

DEFINETLY worth $30. I got mine for $100 and that was a good price. Jump on it. I wonder how old it is? Check for stars on the valve. Each star entitles you to a free fix up from AGD.

Alpha, how about letting us other maggers help some people. Don't be greedy

I love paintball and I love mags.. Of course I want to teach people about them so they can love em too.

You sure more stars give you repairs? I thought the more stars you had the less repairs oyu had left. Like if you have 3 stars punched, then you have two repairs left.

Everytime you send in your mag for a repair, they scratch one star.

Anyways, I dont see whats the dealio with mags... People keep saying they shoot so so fast and all this other stuff that doesnt really matter. Giving the wrong impression on people who are looking to get a mag, only to be let down by how slow it really is...

...now alpha is going to say something like: I can walk 17bps on my mag.

No alpha. No you cant.
