Micromag and x (Alpha and Anyone else HELP!!!)

I'm about to drop an xvalve and level 10 into my micromag. Am I going to have any complications? I should be able to just drop it in right? Do I need to make any adjustments?

EDIT: There were problems. Please help. Read on.

Yeah you probably will. If the powertube carrier is already tuned to the O-ring in the carrier, you should be all set. YOu might want to adjust for shims, bolt spring, and velocity.

OK ALPHA I NEED YOUR HELP AND ANY OTHER MAG USERS

I just put the valve in. I was getting more shots per second from my classic valve. For some reason when I shoot more than 3 shots per second the trigger disengages and the valve will shoot maybe one shot per three pulls of the trigger.

So I'm thinking, maybe the sear is too short, or the level 10 needs adjusting. Please tell me what to do next.

Ok so I went to tune it. I turned the velocity all the way up thinking that may be a problem. So a bunch of oil came out of some hole when i started shooting. Also the gun began to leak out the velocity adjuster. With the higher velocity I could shoot much faster, but there was significant shoot down with the gun. What do I do now????? Oh and the leak would stop if I held the trigger down.

Your level 10 isn't tuned right first off. Follow the guide at AO or in the mag section here.

It may take awhile since the o-ring in the carrier needs to be broken in for it to start working as you'd want it to.

ITs just the Level 10, calm down nothing is worng iwth your marker.

Did you by any chance just take the Level 10 bolt and replace the Level 7 bolt?

You have ot put in the LX O-ring carrier.

Read the Level 10 sticky in this forum.

There is no oil hole in a mag.

ok hopefully you're still around. The "oil hole" Remember in the classic mag how it said oil here. Thats where it was leaking and I hadnt even added any oil or anything. Anyway I'll stop freaking out. I just need my hand held while I walk through this new valve. I read the faqs, but heres the deal I bought the valve and level 10 used and just switched the valves straight out. I dont know what to do when the valve is leaking out the back. Where do I start?? I dont have any other sized anything. I'm clueless.

It didn't come with any carriers, shims, or o-rings for the level 10?

You won't be able to tune the level 10 with out the kit. Go to www.themagsmith.com see if they have one you can buy

First of all, turn the velocity down. That increases the amount of pressure going into the valve (remembe,r the bakc half is a regulator), so you're overpressurizing the marker.

You're going to need carriers, 3 or 4 shims (LX style), and at least oen carrier O-ring. Like stated, check Rogue's store for them.

When it leaks out the back, it means you have the reg up too high. Turn it 1/4 in the coutner-clockwise direction and it should stop.

The carrier inside the powertube is too small. You need to switch to a larger one.

When I say small or large, I mean the inside diameter. Carriers are there becuase pretty much every batch of O-rings for the powertube are different. In order to compensate for different batches, you need to use a carrier of the appropriate size.

Always use the same o-ring when trying to find the right carrier.

There is a little rod inside the bolt that actually slides in the powertube and goes through the carrier. The o-ring I'm talking about makes a seal around this small rod. Right now, the seal is way too hard for your bolt.

To compensate, remove the powertube tip from your powertube. For powertube disassembly, visit my website and go to the mag tech section.

Once you have the powertube off and its contents out (leave the white backing washer in there, dont make it a habit of taking it out), look at the carrier you removed.

CArrier sizes are represented by the lines and dots on the side. One dot = .5 . One line = 1.0

So a carrier with 2 lines and a dot is the 2.5 carrier.

Find out the size carrier you have, and go up one half size. So if you have a 2.0 carrier, go to the 2.5.

REmember to remove the white o-ring from the carrier that was in your powertube. This is what we're tuning.

Shove everythign back in (the carriers go in o-ring first). If there were any shims in teh powertube, remove them as they may cause it to leak down the barrel.

GAs it up and see.

IT should be better.

If its not good enough, open up the powertube, and add one shim between the top of the carrier and the bottom of the powertube. Jsut take off the top and stick one in there.

Try it now. It may leak, or it may be even faster. If it leaks, just go ahead and take the shim out, you should be okay for now.

If it doesn't leak, you can try to add one more. Follow the same procedure, and if it leaks, just remove one.

Let me know if you have any more trouble, and as always, I can tune the bolt for oyu (I just need your valve, bolt, and any contents it came with). My price is $20 shipped.

For starters you need a shorter on/off pin. The Stock X Valve comes with a .750 and your micrmag typically uses a .700 That will account for the lack of ROF and lack of recharge. You need to correct that first and them re- adjust the velocity , that will fix your rear leaking problem and then see how it shoots. If it's a new in the box valve the L10 should be tuned pretty close so if you've changed anything there , change it back to the way it came stock as that has nothing to do with your current problem.

After that , lets hear what it does.

If you need the correct length pin , let me know and I'll get you one.

Jay.

Now you're talking. That sounds about right. The gun is firing with the safety still on even. But that doesnt account for the shootdown unless the on off isnt short enough to allow full recharging. Wait does that make sense? Hmm? Man I used to know mags inside and out. This level 10 is nuts.

Ok I think it came tuned. So can you get me another sized pin or can I call AGD direct?

Alpha thanks for all of your help. If the on/off doesn't straighten it out and I cant get it tuned I might send it to you.

talk to RogueFactor on aim (his aim is roguefactor), he can hook you up with one, or fireblade can too like he said.

Try the on/off pin before you screw with the LX, I never though of that. Good catch jay.

Normally, you'd have to buy a whole new sear.

I actually think I have a spare laying around, so if you want one real cheap, just let me know.
