x valve

does an x valve improve effieciency at all? to make a long story short, some candian guy (a customer that was at this pro shop) told me that you could get about 10% more shots to the tank because the x valve had better air flow as opposed to the older style retro valves, which is what i have. (i didn't believe him, he sounded like an idiot. told me that a 72/3k would hold more than a 68/45 because it is 4 inches longer... )

and please dont tell me that effieciency doesn't matter... i just wanna know the answer to my question.

mags only weakness are efficiency. It takes more air to get the LX to work right. I really doubt that an x-valve improves efficiency. I would think that i'd decrease effeciency.

Wait for somebody intelligent to come through and answer your question. I'm retared.

The thing about the tank COULD be true. I dont know the formula, and its too much thinking for me.

There is a formula for it though.

umm... my 72/3K is in no possible way 4 inches longer than a 68...

the formula for 3K
number of shots approx=cubic inches of tank X 10

the formula for 4.5K
number of shots approx=cubic inches of tank X 15

the forumula for 5 K
number of shots approx=cubic inches of tank X 16.6 (i think)

Thats not the kind of formula I was talking about.

You need to know the pressure of the marker you are operating. You need to know the volume of air the marker uses, and you need to know how much the pressure in the tank will drop (because it does drop with each shot)

Its way more complicated then that. That "formula" was just someone taking the total amount of shots they guestimated or got for THEIR personal marker, then tok the pressure in the tank and devided it by the amount of shots.

The VOLUME of air (that is cubic inches) being used is very important also.
