(possibly) soon to have...
this
a 68 automag, it currently belongs to tippmann666. he says the level 10 bolt it has needs to be tuned. i have tools and everything but i dont really know how... but why am i typing this, when i can read the sticky?
but what i really want to know is:
1. how upgradeable are these? could i just take a ule cf body and throw it on there? and as far as other things like valves, rails, internals, the ule trigger pull kit, etc... well, i need to know if they would work.
1.5. what is this made out of? older mags were stainless steel, but does that include the rail/trigger frame/etc? is this one stainless steel assuming it hasnt been upgraded to something else?
2. what is the approximate resale value of this if i were to sell it later on down the road?
if anyone is interested, im trading my e-spyder clone w/eyes for this. if you spend much time in the b/s/t section, its the only erex pro that has been up for sale/trade for the past 6 months

Mags are very upgradeable (good number of choices for anything you want to up except maybe the x valve, which is always top of the line) The ule body will be able to fit on it also.
The rail you would need to buy looks to be a classic rail (just going off picture though but someone else should be able to shed more light on it).
Can't tell you specifaclly what it's made out of besides the body and valve. X-vavles are made out of aluminum.
2.going off the picture I would estimate around 100-130 maybe. But that's just my guess on it.
Someone else more knowledgeable will be able to help you and probably prove me wrong on everything i said
btw i found your adress.

thanks for all the quick replies
i'm aware that mags are pretty upgradeable compared to all the other guns out there, but i was asking particularly about this one, since it is fairly old. isnt there some conflict with new valves and old bodies, and new bodies and old rails or something along the lines of that?
if i can get $130 + shipping out of it that would be great...

Doing that, you would have just bought yourself an entirely new mag right there...

that's what i think as well. though the first upgrade i would get ia a ule body so you can ditch the powerfeed.

And for the price of all those upgrades, you could buy two brand new RPG Paradigms.
I really dont suggest buyign a classic if you want to upgrade it. Get something with a retrovalve at least.

well, i dont have much choice here. theres only so much mag you can get from a spyder clone. i was wondering if it is possible to put new stuff on an old gun if im bored and need something to work on, since my cocker is also gonna be gone pretty soon...
i'll most likely end up trading/selling it after i tear it apart to see how it works and shoot it a few times though the upgrades were just a thought, and it would probablly be a cf body and that would be the end of it...

Yes, it will. The ULE body fits all rails/valves(Automag/MiniMag, RT Pro, E-mag).
Thanks!

The barrel in the pic appears to be a Dye All-Stainless barrel, not a boomstick.
Youd be best to pic up a newer, lighter barrel anyhow. A good 1-piece aluminum CP barrel only runs ~$45 new.

alas, it is a dye stainless...
ive never seen so much stainless steel on one gun, this thing has to weigh over 5 pounds but i guess on the bright side, it is almost literaly indestructible, and shiny
