Long-Time Player, But New To Automags

Hey! I'm getting back into paintball, now that I have a decent job to support my habit. Stuff I've owned in the past, (In order), have included a Spyder Compact, Spyder E99, PMI Piranha 2k3?, WGP Autococker 2k3, and lastly, a Phantom VSC.

Right now I'm pretty set on getting a Minimag, I've just heard so many good things about mags. I'm mainly concerned about reliablility. None of my past markers excluding my Phantom of course were very reliable. So I ask, are mags pretty good on reliability? Also, for my minimag, I am buying it new, so would I want to get hopper left or hopper right? And should I go with Anti-Siphon Co2 or compair? Thanks for your time!

an RT type valve might fit you better. for the price odf a used RT pro, you would save alot (its paintball why buy new?). as for reliability, i'm sure my mag works every morning i wake up. some mags have lasted for over 10 years without oil, then after a quick 2-3 drops, they shoot like new. they might need a part here and there, but for the most part- i'm sure there is a mag out there that will out live most of us.

HPA/n2 is what mags need. co2 freezes up the valve at high rates of fire, even in the summer. Anti-Siphon is a must if n2 is not an option, but in cold weather your pretty much stuck with throwing paint by hand.

Cool, I really like the minimag style body, but I may replace the valve in the future. You can fit an RT valve on the minimag right? And should I get hopper left or right? I'm right handed if that makes a difference, thanks for your help.

I am right handed, and my minimag body was powerfeed left, which is probably the better choice. If it's left, then the hopper is positioned over to your right, staying out of your line of site more, if you are playing with the gun tight.

Remember, its real expensive to get a new valve. Its a $200 upgrade in most cases.

You're really better off just doing nothing for a few months and saving up for somethign real nice.
