Mag Repair

I'm looking at buying a mag but it will need a trigger guard. Plus it's recharge rate is really slow. What could be causing this and how much will it cost to fix? The mag is a 68 classic.

edit: can it run on co2?

this time of year co2 is a no no... though i suggest using n2/compressed air for the mag all the time. as far as repairs, it depends on who you get to do it. check out Automags.org for a big bank of fellow AGD nuts.

99% cahnce its an old school CF frame with the guard cut away. Yes an intellifrmae, as well as any other automag trigger frame will work just fine. the benchmark double frame might be a good alternative on a budget. Try automags.org's classifieds as well. You might also consider talking to peumagger over there about a pneumag conversion(bigevil might do it to i dont know), or try doing it yourself. There are even pneumag friendly frames about to come out.

AS far as CO2, with it this cold you have two options. Either an A/s tube and a plamer stab, or a remote and stab or expansion chamber. But yes, HPA is recommended as much as possible with classie valves, its required with any kind of RT valve. BTW, the only reason i recommend the reg is its propensity to help stabilize CO@, you do not want to us another reg if possible(the stab is the old school way to do it )

jeez man i think the parts run 50-100$ at most. I dont know what pneumagger would charge, but if you can use a tap and a drill press, you can do it yourself.

it could probably be done with a hand drill, a tap would be something like 5$ top end.
