I have a theory on why people think mags suck. I personally think mags rock, as i am getting a rt mag sometime soon. I think that people think that mags suck because mags are inherently old. Rt pro was made in what, 95? the classic mag was made in 92. Every body wants the latest technology, and mags are definately not new. They are also kinda heavy unless you have a ule body. Please correct me if i am wrong on any part of this.

Cockers are old too. People still like cockers.

The reason is, before their were ULE parts and X-valves and Level 10s, Mags were heavy and prone to chop. I guess people never try out the new mags due to what they thaught of the old ones. When they try ULE mags they like them though.

Reasons I’ve heard.

- Mags are too slow
- Mags are ugly
- Mags are tubes
- Mags are too old
- Mags chop
- Mags are heavy

At one point, all of these reasons were legit reasons, though the tube one isn’t much of a reason to hate. I dare someone to say Mags are slow in the mech world. Last I checked they don’t get much faster then that. New bodies like the ULE and Karta make Mags some of the sexiest markers out there. Yes their design is old, but guess what, it’s a great design!!! Level 10’s and X valves basically ended all problems with chops and weight. That leaves one thing, Mags are tubes.

Last I checked in the paintball world, a smaller profile is better. So why would you want something the size of a shoebox when you could have something the size of a toilet paper roll? Makes sense right? Also look at the new impulses, is it just me, or do they have a striking similarity to ULE Mags? Wow, funny how they caught on, and yet people still hate on mags.

The Mag name will always be hated by the ignorant ballers of this world. All we can do is smile, and put your tongue in the breach and ask, "can you do that?"

Those are the new shocker, not imps. But yes, the design is very similar to the mag.

personally the thing I didnt like about mags is the way the barrels are held in place... with o-rings.

that was one of many deciding factors of why I got a cocker over a mag. dotn get me wrong, I love mags, I just like my cocker more.

Have youve seen the deadly Hair Trigger.. No reason right there why a mag wouldnt Suck.. Buy yes Mags are heavy.. i think some are Ugly.. Except the Karta E-Mag.. Its all Up too The person what they Like and How they Like It.. Personally I would choose a Mag Over a cocker any Day..

The deadlywind isnt out yet but yeah, its pretty sick. Mags arent heavy if you get a ULE body and X-valve. I agree that a lot of mags are ugly, but not all of them besides DW bodies are ugly, the ULE's look just fine if you ask me.

My 2 cents.....

Folks think mags suck because they did. Hear me out and put the flame throwers down for a sec. AGD concentrated on non-pball related products for too long. A mag was the thing to have many years ago as it was the lead tech wise. Cockers, timmys and electros grew in technology and took over. All the electro guns left AGD in the dust. Compared to a timmy a mag was a brick (if had mostly steel parts).

As of the past 2 or so years AGD finally started to pay more attention to their pball line of products and came out with long over due upgrades like LX, ule every thing, and ULT. Deadlywind started making kick arse automag and emag bodies ... excelent milling (I got a Karta for my emag). Soon the Hair trigger will be out.

Mags are back and better than ever. My Karta Emag is just as light as most other guns in the same catagory and can shoot as fast.
