Latest Information on the "Deadlywind hAir Trigger"
I will post the latest information here by Nicad (owner of Deadlywind) on the Deadlywind hAir Trigger.
By nicad on 7-20-04 "Protection has been moving right along. projected protection needed to allow production to begin should be happening in another week or two. Unfortuantly I'm leaving for IAO (in about 20 minutes..). Since I wont be here to finish up the last paper work, it will be delaying the process a little. DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE A FINAL PRODUCT at that time... that part comes next and is still being worked on.
I should have the Blue Dallara hAir gun with me at the AGD booth for a few of the days.
Yes the ULT kills the rate of return on the mechanics of the gun.
I dont see why the Intelli couldnt still be used. This will depend on the final implementation ofcourse, but no reason I can see, unless room just compleatly runs out.
It will work fine on any of the RT style valves, based on my understanding that they are all operationally the same inside.
out! (and gone for a week)."
I will keep posting more information by nicad when he gives us more.

This is the biggest and best piece of news so far. Those of us wanting to upgrade to an Intelliframe, but putting it off in the belief that the hAIR trigger would be a whole frame can go ahead.

More information my friends.
Nicad 7-25-04 "I will be pulling the video off the camera soon... It is in PAL format so im having to convert it for my capture card... :-/
as for the trigger feel-- I got to watch a bunch of people try it out at IAO this past week..
it looks like about 25% can just step up and rip on it (and turn a BUNCH of heads inthe area).. for the rest, it takes a little bit of a learning curve to really get it going. I came to the conclusion that since it a short, but crisp trigger pull, it takes more of a slight "tapping" action to get it singing.
Yes, it feels like and electro.. but then again.. I'm biast.
So, did anyone else shoot it at IAO? if so, post and let me know your honest opinion of how it felt (ie- compaired to electro, etc).
out!"
Thordic (guy who has tested the hAir trigger) 7-25-04 "I think its easily comparable to an electro pull. I actually prefer it to the emag pull.
The trigger has NO slop whatsoever. The trigger pull is TINY. I shot the barrel condom three times just by having my finger too close to the trigger. It is really light and really short.
Some electro triggers have a soft-springy feel, the hAir is a tad crisper, like an electro trigger with a stiff spring. I found it very easily rippable.
When NTN took it out on the field the first time, he was in front of me and he just was laughing and shooting it all over the place. He just started lighting up bunkers with no one in them, the gun is that much fun to shoot.
hAir > EBlade, in both price and performance, IMO."
Nicad 7-26-04 "P8ntBallBoom- Id imagine a safety catch on the sear, just like the Hyperframe has/had. The current prototypes dont have a safety on them (yet) but would be very easy to do so... and look like its needed (just ask Thordic! hehehe).
xXhAppyAznXx- your stuff is still at ano.. expected it to be done by now but I guess not. :-/ You should be getting an email when its shipping out.
norritt- the hAir needs the extra RT action on the on/off to reset the moving parts fast enough for the higher BPS.. this means a ULT will (and does) limit the max BPS it can cycle at.. If I had to guess I'd say the ULT with the hAir cut the bps down by 1/2...
out!"
I'll keep posting more! This information keeps getting better and better!

Is the hair trigger a whole frame or an add on for the intelliframe? Any Idea on what the retail will be? Think the A/O supporters can get a prototype to eval and write reviews for?

The hAir trigger is a whole new frame, it runs by pnuematics in the grip, it does not need tuned. It could sell anywhere from $250-$350.

Zed, I didn't catch that entire thread a AO, so what was this a response to?

Sounds like Nicad is saying that the hAIR mechanism should be able to fit into an Intelliframe, or is he saying it may be possible to modify an Intelliframe to accept the hAIR mechanism? Just want to be clear.

He means that the intelli mechanism should be able to fit inside the hAir trigger frame. The hAir trigger isn't a drop in mod, it's a whole new modded trigger frame. The hAir trigger has 6 adjustments, so there are a lot of new parts inside this new grip frame.
